Sheriff’s Office Warns of Scam
Residents are asked to not leave money in their mailbox if they receive a solicitation for painting.
The warned residents Wednesday of a possible scam that is occurring in some parts of the county.
According to a PCSO alert, a company is posting a flyer on residents’ mailboxes asking for a $10 check to paint their street address on the curb in front of the residence. The company does not leave any pertinent information on the flyer, which leads authorities to believe that it may be a hoax.
Residents are asked not to leave any money or checks in their mailbox for this service.
