Sheriff's Office: Don't Put Your New TV Box Out on Curb, and Other Holiday Tips

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office says, if you get a new, big TV for Christmas, don't put the box out on the curb.

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office offered some important tips for the holiday season on the Sheriff's Facebook page:

1. Do not put large electronic boxes or other high priced item boxes at the curb beside your trash can. You are basically advertising what is inside your home. Instead, break the boxes down and put them in a black garbage bag or take them to be recycled.

2. Do not announce holiday travel plans on social media. Burglars are on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram just like everyone else.

3. Remember, do not overload electrical outlets with Christmas decorations. Overloaded outlets can start a fire in your home.
