Sheriff's Office Warns of Holiday Mail Theft

If you see a suspicious person(s) checking mailboxes in your neighborhood please call 911.

The Paulding County Sheriff's Office wants to warn citizens of a common holiday theft, according to the Sheriff's Facebook page.Β Mail theft around the holidays is a growing concern because of gifts and other items being mailed on a daily basis.

With the holiday season upon us, the Sheriff's Office wants to encourage everyone to remember a few easy tips:

1. DO NOT leave mail in your mailbox overnight.
2. DO NOT put outgoing mail in your mailbox and raise the flag.
3. Take your mail to the Post Office or other secure location to
send it.
