Sketches of Impersonators Released

A wallet was taken from a woman during an incident on July 6 involving two men in a black Ford Crown Victoria.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents have released sketches of the two men they believe robbed a woman on July 6 while impersonating police officers.

According to authorities' initial report, the woman said her wallet was taken by that had a blue light on the dashboard. The woman was driving in southern Paulding County when she was stopped by the vehicle that resembled one belonging to law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office warns residents that those stopped by law enforcement are allowed to drive to a well-lit area before pulling over and should turn on their hazard lights and slow their speed below the speed limit while doing so. Those who are not sure if they are being pulled over by actual law enforcement can call 911 to confirm the presence of an actual officer.

The sheriff’s office has received reports of police impersonators before. This past December, deputies sought information on a black male driver who was wearing a dark, long-sleeve jumpsuit .
