Three Children Seriously Injured in Morning Crash

Two children remain in critical condition as of late Monday morning, while the adult drivers in the two-vehicle crash sustained only minor injuries.

Authorities say three children face serious to life-threatening injuries following an early morning crash on Highway 278 at Lake Road.

According to Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brandon Gurley, the two-vehicle crash, which occurred about 6:30 a.m., resulted in minor injuries to both adult drivers involved but much more serious injuries to three passengers ranging in age between about 4 and 9 years old.

One child was transported by ground to an area hospital and, upon being stabilized, was taken by air to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The other two children were immediately airlifted to Children’s Healthcare.
