Hiram police officers arrested Steven and Pamela Gordon on nine counts each of cruelty to animals after a vehicle on their property was filled with malnourished animals.

Hiram police arrested a man and woman on July 22, after finding a vehicle full of urine, animal litter and feces on their property. The vehicle also contained eight cats and a dog.

Hiram police officers arrested Steven and Pamela Gordon on nine counts each of cruelty to animals. Officers were called to 4166 Jimmy Lee Smith Pkwy to investigate. The animals appeared unhealthy, according to Robbie Rokovitz, City of Hiram. Some of the cats had discharge coming from their eyes. Most of the animals appeared malnourished and were left to wander in waste.

Paulding County Animal Control took possession of the animals.

On July 25, in an unrelated incident, the City of Hiram police officers arrested Gregory Upchurch for cruelty to animals and possession of marijuana less than 1oz.  Officers responded to 459 Hardy Way to investigate a complaint of animal cruelty. Officers found a pit bull female, malnourished, and tied to a chain. The animal had open sores on its ears. Additionally, officers located another pit bull mix that appeared to be bloated and unkempt as well.  During the investigation, officers located what appeared to be a marijuana plant. The animals were turned over to Paulding County Animal Control.
