Woman Shot, Killed at Dallas, Ga., Hair Salon (Update)

A man is in custody after a woman was shot and killed inside a Dallas-area hair salon Monday afternoon.

Robert Steven McDaniel, 45, has been charged with murder and is being held without bond in the Paulding County jail.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Ashley Henson of the Paulding County sheriff’s department said the shooting occurred in Julia’s Hair Salon in the Crossroads Shopping Center on Dallas-Acworth Highway. The man was apprehended by Cobb and Paulding county deputies who were having lunch nearby, according to the AJC.

Authorities were not clear about the relationship between the alleged shooter and the woman, but believe they knew each other.

"This was not a random act," Henson told the AJC. "He sought out this female victim."
