Chamber to Host ‘State of the County’ Thursday

David Austin, chairman of the Paulding County Board of Commissioners, to serve as keynote speaker of the Chamber's Georgia Power Luncheon.

David A. Austin, who took office as the chairman of the in January 2009, will speak on “Paulding County’s Past, Present & Future” at the Georgia Power Luncheon March 3 at the . Attendees can network starting at 11 a.m., with the program and lunch beginning at noon.

Reservations are required and may be made by calling 770-445-6016 or visiting the Chamber website at www.pauldingchamber.org. The cost for the luncheon is $15 for members who pre-pay, $20 for members at the door and $25 for non-members. Tables of 10 are $175 and include program recognition. Visa and MasterCard accepted.

Austin is a sixth-generation resident of Paulding County. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Boyd L. Austin Sr. David has been married to the former Jane Abney for 37 years and they reside in the New Hope community. David & Jane have one daughter, Jaydee, who is married to Chris Smith, and two grandchildren, Abney and Austin Smith.

Austin is an active member of . He is a graduate of Dallas High School and West Georgia College where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing and management.  David spent 30 years in corporate management and sales and as a small business owner prior to being elected chairman.
