Paulding County Begins Update of Comprehensive Transportation Plan

The Atlanta Regional Commission and Georgia DOT are funding the plan update to assist local governments with defining County-wide needs, goals, and priorities.

The Paulding County Department of Transportation announces the start of the update to the Paulding County Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP). The plan covers Paulding County and the cities of Dallas, Hiram and Braswell. According to Scott Greene, DOT Director, “The key measure of success will be public involvement. We need to know if the recommendations for moving our county forward make sense to our Citizens.”

The Atlanta Regional Commission and Georgia DOT are funding the plan update to assist local governments with defining County-wide needs, goals, and priorities. In addition, local transportation plans are the mechanism that will allow the County and its cities to strategically set priorities for transportation needs and secure funding for projects. The final report will recommend solutions that support local and regional land use plans. The update will be fully coordinated with, and will in part, continue to serve as the transportation element of Paulding County Comprehensive Plans and the local Cities.

The planning effort will include conducting an extensive public involvement process, data collection and analysis, development and refinement of technical planning tools, and preparation of a series of supporting transportation plans and special studies. Public involvement activities may include public meetings, speakers bureau, roving kiosks, social media and a project web site. Citizens wishing to comment may also send emails to contact@peqatl.com.
