Dallas Council Approves Budget

The budget for fiscal year 2013 is down approximately $1.84 million from fiscal year 2012.

The Dallas City Council approved the city's budget for fiscal year 2013 at a called meeting Monday night.

The $4.95 million budget is down approximately $1.84 million from fiscal year 2012's budget of $6.79 million budget. A public hearing was held on the budget last week though, according to the Paulding Neighbor, no residents spoke on the issue.

Although the city's fiscal year runs from July 1-June 30, City Manager Kendall Smith said the council had to postpone its vote until the city received final ad valorum tax digest figures from Paulding County.
