Here's How to Use E-911 Best

In the spirit of National Public Safety Telecommunications Month this April, Paulding County E-911 would like to share vital information regarding our emergency services that will not only prepare you if there ever is a need to dial 911 but will also assist in our processing your call more quickly and efficiently.

There are two primary pieces of information that are necessary to enter an emergency call for service. The most important is the address of the emergency. Although we do have the technology that can assist in providing some of this information, we cannot always rely on it to be accurate and should always verify it with the caller.

The next imperative piece of information is the nature of the emergency. This helps us determine what your emergency is, how to prioritize your call, and which responders need to be notified.

Not every call we receive is an emergency. For police, fire or EMS non emergency assistance, please dial 770-445-2117. Using the non emergency number is important to ensure that callers with emergencies are able to get the assistance they need on an emergency 911 lines. If ever in doubt that you have an emergency or which number to call, do not hesitate to dial 911.
