Public Hearings

  • The Public Hearing for June 3, 2014 of the City of Hiram was called to order by Mayor Doris A. Devey at 6:30 pm in the Hiram Community Center.

  • The City of Hiram held a Public Hearing to consider and receive public comment on a Re-zoning Application: 2014-03-Z_City of Hiram: Application by BRENT HARRIS/ 590 HIRAM LLC to rezone approximately 1.073 acres from R-2 (Suburban Residential District) to LRO (Low Rise Office District) to convert existing building to small office building. Property is located in Land Lot 681, District 2, Section 3; west side of SR 92 (aka 590 Hiram Douglasville Hwy) north of Seaboard Street.
  • Staff recommended approval of the Rezoning application with 13 Stipulations.
  • No Public Comment.
  • The Public Hearing was adjourned.
  • The City of Hiram held a Public Hearing to consider and receive public comment on an Amendment to the Charter of the City of Hiram, Georgia, pursuant to Home Rules, concerning the Municipal Court and the process of identifying and appointing Stand-by Judges.
  • No Public Comment.

Regular Session

  • The Regular Session for June 3, 2014 of the City of Hiram was called to order by Mayor Doris A. Devey.
  • The Minutes for May 6, 2014 Regular Session, May 17, 2014 Work Session, and May 27, 2014 Work Session were approved.
  • Dr. Melton, Shepherd’s Rest Ministries requested City support for the October 3, 2014 Candlelight Vigil event at Ben Hill Strickland Sr. Memorial Park.
  • Removed consideration of the agreement with VC-3 for Information Systems Support and Services from the table from the previous Council meeting.
  • Authorized the City Manager to enter into a 3 year agreement with VC-3 for Information Systems Support and Services.
  • Awarded the Professional Planning Services Contract for the LCI Grant to ATKINS.
  • Approved the Rezoning Application for Brent Harris subject to conditions referenced in the Staff Report.
  • Approved FY2014 Budget Amendments presented in the Budget Amendments Summary Report, dated 5-27-14.
  • Approved contracting services to replace the pump at Well Head #1 (Downtown) with Price Brothers Well Drilling & Boring, Inc for $9,569.00. Project will be funded with Water Revenue Capital Outlay account.
  • Approved the final, reconciliation Change Order in the amount of $62,324.10 to C&L Contractors for the Hiram Street Improvement Project on Powder Springs Street and Seaboard Avenue to be paid from SPLOST Streets - Capital Outlay fund.
  • Approved the FY2015 Department of Corrections Work Detail Agreement in the amount of $39,500.00 to be paid from General Fund Maintenance & Operations.
  • No Visitor Business
