Hiram City Council Meeting Today

The council meeting was rescheduled from April 5.

The Hiram City Council will hold its work session and regular session for the month of April today. The council’s regular meeting was rescheduled from April 5.

Prior to the regular meeting, the council’s work session will begin at 5:30 p.m. According to Mayor Carmen Rollins, the council tends to hear presentations during the work session when possible to help keep regular meetings from running long.

The council will hear a presentation from Blue Wave, an information technology company, regarding IT service for the city.

A Paulding County Water and Sewer representative will address the council regarding sewer possibilities in downtown Hiram.

And the council will discuss a business license amendment in preparation for a public hearing and vote at its May meeting.

The council’s new business agenda for the regular meeting includes:

Gary Davis with Give a Kid a Chance will present a request to the city.

Kathie Stancil from the Hiram Ruritan will address the council regarding funding help for the football field that was damaged during the flood event.

And the council will consider a vote to allow Rollins to enter into an agreement with Blue Wave Computing for IT service and, as a separate item and vote, to award Center Street Culvert repair to Red Clay Enterprises.

The council meets at 6:30 p.m. for its regular session, and the agenda is subject to change prior to meeting time.
