Hiram Voters to Weigh in on Sunday Sales

The Hiram City Council Tuesday quickly approved a resolution to put Sunday package sales in the hands of the voters.

It didn't take long Tuesday evening for members of the Hiram City Council to approve a resolution to put a Sunday alcohol sales decision in the hands of voters.

After Councilwoman Earlene Graham made the motion, the council unanimously approved the measure that will have voters decide Nov. 8 whether the city should allow for Sunday package sales.

While Hiram restaurants may currently be approved to sell alcohol by the drink on Sundays, grocery and convenience stores are not yet allowed to sell on that day of the weekβ€”an affirming vote by the public would open the door for such sales.
