Inmate Work Detail on Hiram Council's Agenda

The Hiram City Council meets today at 6:30 p.m. Return to Dallas-Hiram Patch on Wednesday for coverage of tonight's meeting.

councilmen have just two votes to consider at their meeting tonight.

The first involves a proposed $39,500 contract with the Georgia Department of Corrections for services of an assigned inmate/detainee work detail for fiscal year 2013.

Elected officials also will consider revising the city council meeting calendar. City officials at last week’s work session discussing changing September’s meeting dates as to not coincide with the Sept. 9-11 Clerk’s Fall Conference, which City Clerk Cynthia Geyer is set to attend.

In other business, the council will hear a quarterly update from Jamie Gilbert of Paulding County Economic Development.
