Land Swap Gets School Board Approval

Paulding County School Board members also denied a parent's request to waive a board policy.

The boundaries of the property on which sits will change slightly—but will not impact the school—following action taken by Paulding County School Board members Tuesday.

The board gave its approval to an even land swap involving a 0.401-acre parcel on the Allgood property. Associate Superintendent Brian Otott earlier in the week said the land in question was of no real value to the school and adjoined the back of nearby private properties.

Board members also voted to uphold district policy AF – School Day, following parent Lydia Rollins’ request to waive the policy to allow her homeschooled son to participate in the Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program at East Paulding High School. The policy states that high school students must be scheduled for five segments per day.
