Swafford: Five Planes To Be Repaired
The Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport director gave the Board of Commissioners an update on damage from the tornado that hit the facility earlier this month.
Most of the airplanes kept at the Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport were destroyed after a earlier this month.
Airport Director Blake Swafford told the during its work session this morning that out of 21 planes at the airport, five likely will be able to be repaired. The rest will be sent to salvage yards.
. No new planes are expected to be kept at the airport until after the hangars are repaired.

Also at its work session, commissioners reviewed the agenda for their meeting this evening, which includes awarding the Seven Hills Boulevard Extension Project to C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. in the amount of $8.52 million. Officials said that Cedarcrest Road has seen a 50-percent jump in traffic in the last four years, and the extension is expected to take some of those cars east to Highway 92.
Other items on the BOC's business meeting agenda include adopting the county's multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan update, approving a grant from the FAA and GDOT to reimburse the county for environmental monitoring for years four and five, and to fund monitoring for year six in an amount not to exceed $107,306.
