Main Street Players Seek Actors, Directors for Murder Mystery Dinner

Auditions will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Dallas Theater and must be secured through email. Directors will receive payment, but everyone else serves as a volunteer.

The Main Street Players will be casting their fall 2011 murder mystery dinner production on Saturday morning at the .  

Audition times must be secured by emailing dallastheater@gmail.com

Auditions are open to those who are new and returning to the theatre world as well as to experienced professionals.

Aged 18 and up, two females and three males are needed for the production of "Funeral for a Gangster." The play is set in the 1920s; the characters are over-the-top, bigger-than-life caricatures.   

A one- to two-minute comedic monologue should be presented.

Also, a recent headshot needs to be submitted—either a professional headshot or a recent black-and-white photo.

Actors must be able to attend evening rehearsals during the months of August through October and the performances on Oct. 14 and 15 and 21-23.

Formed in 2010, The Main Street Players is the Dallas Theater’s resident community theater program dedicated to bringing quality theatre to Northwest Georgia. The theater is a program of the city of Dallas.

As well as actors, local talent also is being sought in the areas of directing, stage management, props, costuming and all areas of theatrical production. Those who are cast in a show or who work on a show in any capacity become members of The Main Street Players.

Directors Needed for 2011-12 Season Main Street Players

Enthusiastic, experienced directors for the 2011-12 theatrical season are being sought who have worked with large community theater casts.

In addition to October's murder mystery dinner production, other plays will be a children’s mainstage production in March and a musical in April.

Past productions have included "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" and "Marvelous Wonderettes."
