Need Work? Head to Cobb Wednesday, Thursday

Officials from the Georgia Department of Labor's Marietta office will be helping two companies fill jobs this week.

The Georgia Department of Labor will help RGIS Inventory Service and a Kroger grocery store fill about 20 jobs in Cobb County this week.

On Wednesday, RGIS, an inventory and data collection agency, will be recruiting 10 part-time inventory takers. The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta.

Applicants must have a résumé, be at least 18 years old, able to travel and stay overnight, and use a calculator or 10-key audit to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure with whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Prior to the interview, applicants should apply online at www.rgis.com then enter keyword 316. Salaries are $8 to $12.50 an hour, with performance-based raises.

On Thursday, GDOL will help Kroger recruit 10 part-time workers for its new store in Smyrna. The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the store, located at 3240 South Cobb Drive.

The company is recruiting cashiers, deli workers, pharmacy technicians, general merchandise workers, baggers and cake decorators, as well as baristas to work at the Starbucks coffee shop in the store. Since the hours of the workers will be flexible, students are encouraged to apply.

The companies will conduct background checks and drug screening tests on selected applicants.
