Rep. Graves Votes To Fund Low Income Women and Children, Disaster Recovery

U.S. Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) issued the following statement after voting for, and the House passed, legislation to provide funding for nutrition assistance for low income women and children as well as emergency response and disaster recovery efforts:

"Once again, House Republicans and Democrats have joined together to fund common ground areas of government. We are committed to keeping as much of the government open as possible until Harry Reid and Senate Democrats agree to negotiate. Today, we acted to ensure that nutrition assistance for low income women and children and funding for emergency response efforts are not impacted by the partial shutdown. Sadly, Harry Reid will not allow the Senate to vote on these bills.

β€œIt’s time for Harry Reid to come to the table and talk through our differences. As an appointed negotiator for Republicans, I am ready to work with Democrats to pass a fair funding bill and open the entire government today.”
