State Routes To Undergo Roadwork This Week

The repairs will run through Friday; drivers should use caution in areas where workers are present.

Paulding drivers are set to see Georgia Department of Transportation maintenance crews on two local roads through Friday this week.

Weather permitting, workers are scheduled to repair the deteriorating asphalt spots on State Route 61 and State Route 92 in Paulding through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.

GDOT officials say hundreds of their employees and contractors work on dozens of highway, bridge and intersection improvements throughout the state each day, with their work often bringing them and heavy machinery in close proximity to travel lanes.

With 57 GDOT personnel and many more drivers, passengers and contractors’ workers killed in highway work zone accidents since 1973, officials urge drivers to slow down in these construction zones and to remain attentive and cautious.
