Voters approved the measure to allow the city to issue licenses for Sunday package sales of alcohol 55.5 to 44.5 percent.
Hiram voters approved a measure to allow the city to issue licenses for Sunday package sales of alcohol, 146 to 117, or 55.5 to 44.5 percent.
While Hiram restaurants may currently be approved to sell alcohol by the drink on Sundays, grocery and convenience stores are not yet allowed to sell on that day of the week—the affirming vote by the public opens the door for such sales.
