TSPLOST To Be Discussed at Breakfast Tuesday

Speakers at the Cobb EMC Power Breakfast will focus on the subject of the July 31 referendum.

The upcoming vote on the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or TSPLOST, will be the focus of Tuesday’s .

Jason O’Rouke, political director of Connect Georgia; and Scott Greene, Paulding County Department of Transportation director, will be speaking at the monthly breakfast at in Dallas.

Voters will head to the polls on July 31 to weigh in on the TSPLOST, which could have an impact of more than $200 million on Paulding County, according to county officials. A list of proposed projects approved by the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission includes $164 million for county projects to be funded by the 10-year, 1-percent sales tax. Paulding as well as the cities of Dallas, Hiram and Braswell could also receive about $43 million total for transportation projects selected by each government.
