Video: Three Vying for House District 19 Seat

Incumbent Paulette Rakestraw Braddock, Michael Ray James and Melissa Morrison met with Dallas-Hiram Patch for one-on-one interviews on their campaign platforms.

Only one state representative from Paulding is facing a challenge from within their own party.

To retain her District 19 seat, State Rep. Paulette Rakestraw Braddock, R-Powder Springs, will have to fend off challengers from Michael Ray James of Acworth and Melissa Morrison of Dallas in the July 31 Republican primary.

The candidate who emerges from that election—or a potential runoff on Aug. 21 if no candidate has more than half of the votes after next week’s results are released—will take office in January as no Democratic nor independent candidates are vying for the seat.
