Voting Now Open for Hiram Mayor’s Race

Voting also continues for those wishing to weigh in on the presidential race.

Hiram residents today can begin casting their ballots for one of two individuals they would like to see as the city’s mayor.

Vying for the position are Don Brown and Doris Devey. to seek during the first city council meeting of the year.

Hiram residents qualified to vote can cast ballots in their city’s mayoral race through Friday at the Hiram Community Center, 217 Main St.

Those who cannot vote this week will have their final opportunity to do so on Tuesday, March 6— it’s the same day as the presidential preference primary, but the elections are separate; those wishing to cast ballots for mayor will go to the Hiram Community Center, while those wanting to make a selection in the presidential race will have to travel to their assigned county polling place.

While Hiram residents are the only ones who can take weigh in on their city’s mayoral race, all county voters have the chance to make a selection in the presidential preference primary. Advance voting in that election begins today at three satellite locations—, 2056 Hiram Douglasville Highway, Hiram; , 1550 East Paulding Drive, Dallas; and the Crossroads Library, 909 Harmony Grove Church Road, Acworth. Voting hours at the three locations are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
