Nebo Elementary No Stranger to Relay For Life

Nebo Elementary School joined Relay For Life of Paulding County in the fight against cancer 16 years ago to honor one person’s battle against breast cancer. Since then, those in the school have met several others fighting various forms of cancer, and so today their Relay For Life team continues to raise money in order to find a cure.

“We started the team many years ago in honor of a staff member who was battling breast cancer at the time,” says Kim Johnson, the team’s captain. “We have since continued our fundraising efforts and have walked in honor of several parents, staff members, and students.”

Johnson says the team raises money each year through "Jeans Day" sales, Relay dinners prior to PTA meetings, T-shirt sales and staff lunches.
