A Late Arrival for South Paulding Graduation Attendees

Dozens hoping to arrive on time for South Paulding High School's graduation Friday had to wait for buses to shuttle them to the event.

Limited parking at and next door led Paulding County Schools officials to shuttle those coming to Friday from nearby and .

But about 300 vying to attend remained at Austin Middle School as the ceremony began, with relief in the form of returning buses not arriving until more than 20 minutes after the event's 7 p.m. start time, while the final attendees were not picked up until 8 p.m. By the time the latter group arrived, the ceremony was half over as officials had already begun presenting diplomas.
