District Seeks Input for School Calendar's Next 3 Years

Responses to the survey questions will help the Paulding County School District to design the calendars for the next three school years.

The Paulding County School District is in the process of reviewing and establishing calendars for the 2014-2015, 2015-2016, and 2016-2017 school years. The school district is seeking insight from the community as the calendars are developed.

The current school calendar was established based on recommendations and feedback. In addition to the traditional holidays, the calendar has the following breaks:

o    5 days of teacher/student Fall Break in September
o    5 days of teacher/student Thanksgiving Break in November
o    10 days of teacher/student Holiday Break in December
o    5 days of teacher/student Winter Break in February
o    5 days of teacher/student Spring Break in April

In addition, the current calendar has "balanced semesters" so that the first semester ends before the Holiday Break in December. This allows students to complete the first semester and take semester tests before a two-week break from study.

Any calendar that the district establishes must have at least 180 days or equivalent for students and 190 days for teachers.

Your responses to the following questions will help the school district to design the calendars for the next three school years.
