The cameras of WSB-TV could be focused tonight on the players, cheerleaders, band members and fans of and high schools, but only if those teams and their supporters rally on Facebook this morning.
As of early Friday, tonight’s East Paulding vs. North Paulding football game had slipped to second place out of seven matchups that could be the focus of the Atlanta TV station’s Sports Zone coverage. The ABC affiliate is asking its viewers to help pick out the football matchup that will be visited by the Sports Zone Friday crew.
Two Paulding County games— vs. and the East vs. North game—are among the choices. The latter had led the polling earlier in the week but was 3,300 votes behind Allatoona vs. Woodland (Cartersville) early Friday morning.
But fans of the Paulding teams can surge with some last-minute votes. After heading to WSB-TV’s photo gallery at this link, Facebook users can vote on their favorite schools by liking the photo that represents the game of their choice, which is worth one vote; and by sharing a photo with their Facebook friends, which is worth two votes. The game that receives the most votes on Sports Zone Friday's Facebook Page by noon today will be visited by the WSB crew.
Highlights from the game with the most votes will be featured on WSB-TV and on its website. The schools’ cheerleaders and bands also will receive some TV time, with the cheerleaders set to be shown during Sports Zone Friday, while the bands will receive their fame on Sports Zone Saturday.
The standings as of early Friday were:
- Allatoona vs. Woodland (Cartersville) – 1,211 likes, 19,135 shares (39,481 total votes)
- East Paulding vs. North Paulding – 1,867 likes, 17,157 shares (36,181)
