Health Department to Offer Back-to-School Immunizations

With Paulding County schools set to start the new school year on Aug. 1, Paulding County Public Health announced that it is offering back-to-school immunizations and screenings at its health clinic in Dallas.

"We want to ensure that every student, whether just starting elementary school or entering college, is fully protected," said health department Nurse Manager Teresa Knight.

When is Paulding County Public Health offering immunizations and screenings?

  • 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday.
  • Location is 451 Jimmy Campbell Parkway, Dallas, Georgia 30132. (770) 443-7881.
  • Immunization Clinic is a walk-in clinic only.

What should parents bring with them?

  • Your child’s immunization records.
  • Children entering kindergarten and those new to Georgia: Immunization Certificate, Georgia Form 3231, and a Dental, Vision and Hearing Form 3300.

What are the required immunizations?

  • Children entering kindergarten: May need a second dose of varicella (chicken pox), measles - mumps - rubella vaccines and a booster dose of DTaP and Polio.
  • Children entering the sixth grade: May need another dose of chicken pox vaccine if they have not had chicken pox disease and another dose of MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella). It is recommended that children 11-12 years of age also receive Tdap, Meningitis, Hep. A and HPV.
  • College students should be aware that most colleges arestrongly recommending the Meningitis vaccine that prevents meningococcal disease.
