Local Teams Fall Short in Fan Voting

Two Atlanta TV stations will be visiting other schools to capture tonight’s football action, but two local teams could earn a camera crew’s visit next week.

Fans of the football programs of North Paulding and South Paulding high schools nearly nabbed the chance to have an Atlanta TV station highlight their teams tonight.

A visit from WSB-TV’s Sports Zone Friday crew was in reach for the players and supporters of the Wolfpack and Spartans, but in the end, the matchup between Mount Pisgah Christian School and The Walker School just barely won the fan voting to have the ABC affiliate in attendance. The station had asked its viewers to help pick the game to be visited by the crew. Hiram High’s away game against Lithia Springs also was in the running.

The North-South game also was one of five choices for Fox 5 Atlanta’s Game of the Week, but that honor will go to Chestatee vs. Johnson-Gainesville.

Local players’ next chance to make it into the spotlight is Oct. 12, as East Paulding vs. Hiram is one of the seven games up for the next visit from the WSB-TV Sports Zone Friday crew.

You can head here to cast your votes for your favorite Oct. 12 game to be covered by WSB.

By visiting WSB-TV’s photo gallery at this link, Facebook users can vote on their favorite schools by liking the photo that represents the game of their choice, which is worth three votes; and by sharing a photo with their Facebook friends, which is worth one vote. The game that receives the most votes by noon Friday will be visited by the WSB crew.

I am torn on this decision. Even though homosexuality is a sin, it is no greater a sin than lyingRead More or cheating. If the troop had boys who were not Christian & they were committing those sins then that sin was being brought into the church. I think Christians need to remember that no one sin is greater than another. I think the parents of the boy scouts would have to determine if they wanted their child to participate in the troop if their was a homosexual in their group. However, the church hosted the Boy Scouts upon a certain charter. When that charter was changed then the church has the right to decide if they want to continue the association. I know of other churches that ended their hosting of Boy Scouts last year because the group was becoming too politically polarizing & they felt that conflicted with the ministry of the church. It is a fine line with views on both sides but I feel each church has to decide what is best for them...it is after all their facilities.

Do we not remember who Jesus surrounded himself with? Don't believe for one minute that there is notRead More one homosexual in your congregation, or for that matter an adulterer, a fornicator, a thief, a liar, the list goes on. And if you are a real stickler, any divorcee that has dated or remarried is committing sin every day. I do not believe in the gay lifestyle but I do believe in what good the boy scouts do. Shame on you for abandoning them when they need you the most
