Matthew Stinchcomb is a Whiz in Technology

Entering the eighth grade at Austin Middle School next year, Stinchcomb has a goal of helping others.

Interested in technology since elementary school, Matthew Stinchcomb has used his talent to assist others.

Stinchcomb credits his interest in technology to Christopher Michaud, who taught an after-school program at Nebo Elementary School.

"As I learned, it gave me great confidence. I began with a project program called Scratch," Stinchcomb said.

He also continued to participate in group robotics at several First LEGO League Tournaments through the sixth grade and received various awards.

"Helping others is the goal. I like to see the expression on people's faces when they ask me to do something and it turns out to be more than what they expected," Stinchcomb added.

One of his teachers last year at Austin Middle School, Maya Woodall, said of Stinchcomb, "He is always offering to help out in any way he can and is admired by peers and faculty. He has been an integral part of my yearbook staff this year, has helped out countless teachers and media staff, and has been the technical director for plays and talent shows."
