Megan Boylen a Whiz on Compassion for Others

Boylen uses Operation Poverty experience to share a message about poverty around the world.

Boylen, a junior at East Paulding High School, participated in a weeklong project this year to draw attention to poverty in this country.

She and other students lived in someone's backyard for a week, living on $2 per day. They could only wash with a water hose and had to cook all meals outside.

Boylen is also passionate about informing students of the dangers of human trafficking that exists in our country and around the world.

When asked what motivates her Boylen replied, "While many things motivate me for the causes I support, the greatest one is love. Operation Poverty has given me an outlet to do that and to truly experience how many people around the world live.

Boylen has travelled to Nicaragua and Jamaica and said these visits have given her life lessons on serving others around her.

"My heart for our community locally and globally is purely an outpouring of the blessings I have received," Boylen said.

Kristi Bigham, one of Boylen's teachers, said of her, "This student is super intelligent yet very personable. She is smart, responsible, and compassionate."
