PCHS Cadets Take Awards at National Championships

Paulding County High School's Clark Bingham won first place in the Ultimate Raider Challenge for the entire nation.

The  Paulding County High School's JROTC Raiders competed in the National JROTC Raider Championships in Molena, GA., over the weekend and Raider, Clark Bingham won first place in the Ultimate Raider Challenge for the entire nation.

Here are the stats for the standings from the competition:

PCHS Male Team finished 10th overall in the Nation, earning
· 1st Place in the Cross Country Rescue
· 2nd Place in the Gauntlet Run
· 5th Place in the 5K Team Run.

In addition to taking first place in the nation for the Ultimate Raider competition, Clark Bingham beat the closest competition on the course by a full minute.

"We'd like to spotlight MSG John Underwood for his leadership, dedication and support of these cadets," Michelle Samples said in an email, a parent-supporter of the team. "These cadets deserve the recognition for their efforts, they have been training for this event since May of last year. MSG Underwood sacrificed his summer to be at the school with the kids every day for training because they wanted to be more competitive."
