School Board to Consider Small Land Swap

The land issue is among the Paulding County School Board's light agenda this morning.

members at this morning’s meeting could give the nod to a small land swap involving property at .

Associate Superintendent Brian Otott says the swap involves less than half an acre of the district’s land at the school. He said the piece of property in question is of “no real value” and adjoins the back of private properties.

“One of our neighbors has asked to do a land swap. Basically the land we’re talking about here is not prime real estate—it’s just part of the property that we own there,” Otott said. “In cases like this, and it happens periodically with our land holdings, the agreement is always contingent on the private citizen paying any legal fees or attorney costs that are required to make the land trade.”

The board meets at 8:30 a.m. in the boardroom. The meeting's current agenda can be found here.
