Update: Officials Confirm PCHS Bomb Threat

Students were evacuated out of Paulding County High School Wednesday morning following a bomb threat called in anonymously. Return to Dallas-Hiram Patch for updates.

Updated 1:40 p.m.

Officials with Paulding County Schools at noon Wednesday confirmed that a bomb threat led to the evacuation of Paulding County High School earlier in the day.

“The 911 center did receive an anonymous call [saying] there was a bomb in Paulding County High School. The caller did not provide any other details, and as a precautionary measure, [as we do] any time we have a bomb threat, the building was evacuated,” Associate Superintendent Brian Otott told Dallas-Hiram Patch.

Following the evacuation, Otott said, Paulding County Sheriff’s deputies and school officials searched the premises for anything dangerous but found nothing suspicious. Students returned to classes about an hour after they had been evacuated.

The evacuation disrupted the administering the Georgia High School Graduation Test to juniors at the school, but Otott said the exam would be completed today.
