Video: KSU’s Football Future a Topic at Chamber Lunch

Kennesaw State's athletic director, Vaughn Williams, talked about Paulding's impact to KSU, the importance of collegiate sports and the possibility of a football team during Thursday's Georgia Power Luncheon.

When it comes to starting a football program, Kennesaw State Athletic Director Vaughn Williams says the school is “in the third quarter.”

Williams, who served as the keynote speaker at Thursday’s Georgia Power Luncheon put on by the Paulding Chamber of Commerce, told those in attendance that the school is in the beginning of “a major, major capital campaign” toward a football program. “In the next four to five months, we’ll know a little bit more,” he said.

Though the college is in Cobb County, Williams also told the audience that Paulding has played a large role in the university’s development, and will continue to do so in the years to come.

“Over the last six to seven years, 30 percent of Kennesaw State’s growth has been because of this county. The students from this county are going to Kennesaw State. We’re recruiting from this county. This is a relationship, a bond, that’s not just started—it’s been a long time, but it’s going to continue to flourish as Kennesaw State continues to grow.
