'Whiz Kid' Damon Galloway Plowing Way to State

Damon Galloway is heading to state FFA competition after placing first in the area.

Damon Galloway recently topped 30 of his peers in competition, and could be on his way to top even more.

Galloway is Dallas-Hiram Patch’s latest after being nominated for the honor by Matt Townson, agriculture instructor at Paulding County High. Galloway was nominated after placing first in the area in the FFA Tractor Operations and Mechanics competition in Calhoun at the North Georgia Fairgrounds. He now goes on to compete in the state contest in Tifton on December 3.

The 17-year-old says his key to success was knowledge of the contest through real-world application from work at Aiken Farms as well as personal interest in tractors and diesel mechanics.
