Girls Preview: Hiram (11-3, 3-1) will attempt to remain in third place in Region 5-AAAA and extend a three-game winning streak when it hosts East Paulding (5-7, 1-2). Hiram has been stout defensively all season, allowing an average of 34 points per game. East Paulding has won two of three games dating back to Dec. 17.
Boys Preview: Hiram (7-8, 2-2) hosts East Paulding (5-7, 1-2) in a battle of two teams trying to distinguish themselves from the middle of the pack in Region 5-AAAA. Neither team has played since last weekend due to the snow and ice conditions. Hiram has been sitting idle with the taste of victory in its mouth after a 76-70 win over Paulding County on Jan. 8. East Paulding will look to snap a three-game losing streak that dates back to Dec. 17.

Time: Girls-6 p.m.; Boys-7:30 p.m.

Girls Preview: North Paulding (1-14, 0-4) travels to Alexander (6-9, 1-3) still in search of its first-ever region win. The task will be a tall one as the Alexander Cougars feature a three-pronged offensive attack with Katica Favors inside, Nicole Fasick running the point and Brooke Davidson as an outside shooting threat. North Paulding has lost four straight after earning its first win in two years on Dec. 28.
Boys Preview: North Paulding (3-12, 1-3) has won three of its last five games after starting 0-10. They’ll try to extend that upward trend at Alexander (11-4, 3-1), which rides a four-game winning streak into tonight’s contest and has its eye on a first-place finish in Region 5-AAAA.

Time: Girls-6 p.m.; Boys-7:30 p.m.
Where: South Paulding High School
Girls Preview: Paulding County (7-5, 0-3) will travel to South Paulding (3-10, 0-4) in a battle of Region 5-AAAA cellar dwellers. Someone will snap a losing streak tonight. Paulding County has lost three straight after starting the season 7-2, and South Paulding has lost six straight dating back to Dec. 11. The teams played on Dec. 4, when Paulding County came away with a 41-36 win.
Boys Preview: Paulding County (5-7, 0-3) and South Paulding (4-9, 0-4) are the last two winless teams in Region 5-AAAA play. That will change tonight when they go head to head for the second time this season. Paulding County won the first match up, 54-53 on Dec. 4.
