Get Your Winter Sports Team on Patch

Here's a quick list of how you can make sure your sports teams are highlighted on Dallas-Hiram Patch.

If you are a part of a winter sports team, Dallas-Hiram Patch wants to hear from you. Whether you're a player, a member of the booster club, a coach or even a vendor, Patch is a place for you.

We are not just a news portal, but more of a community hub for you, your family and your friends. But, we can't do it without your support.

Here's how you and your sports team can get the most out of Dallas-Hiram Patch:

1. Start a blog about your sports team.

Here you can talk about your highs and lows, players that stand out, coaches you love and more, including what's going on in the sports world outside of Paulding County. Blogs are not subject to the same content editing as articles. For the most part, it's your style, your way, your say.

2. Upload pictures of your team to our gallery.

We wish we could, but cannot, be at every game for every team. So, we love getting photos and videos sent to us, especially those posted by you—the community—to our gallery. It's a place where everyone can quickly see images and films you all hold near and dear.

3. Submit opinion articles or letters to the editor.

We accept submissions, which may appear as featured stories on our homepage and in our newsletters. We reach tons of people in the community, and we know they'd love to hear from you. Email these to jon.gargis@patch.com.

4. Make announcements on wins, team changes, highlights and more.

Announcements can be about anything you want to tell people. We want you to feel invested in Patch and the community, and this is an easy and quick way to do it. Add a photo, as well. It helps your announcement to stand out.

5. Place events, such as fundraisers, special competitions, etc., on our calendar.

We know you have lots of games or events that you'd love to see the community come to, and the more people who know about it, the better. That's where event listings come in. You pick the date it runs, and voila! The best way to then get that event featured on the front page of our Patch site is to include a photo!

6. Place an advertisement for even more exposure for your team or business.

If you want to gain even more exposure, place an advertisement on Patch. Contact Allison Bentley at allison.bentley@patch.com for more information.

I am torn on this decision. Even though homosexuality is a sin, it is no greater a sin than lyingRead More or cheating. If the troop had boys who were not Christian & they were committing those sins then that sin was being brought into the church. I think Christians need to remember that no one sin is greater than another. I think the parents of the boy scouts would have to determine if they wanted their child to participate in the troop if their was a homosexual in their group. However, the church hosted the Boy Scouts upon a certain charter. When that charter was changed then the church has the right to decide if they want to continue the association. I know of other churches that ended their hosting of Boy Scouts last year because the group was becoming too politically polarizing & they felt that conflicted with the ministry of the church. It is a fine line with views on both sides but I feel each church has to decide what is best for them...it is after all their facilities.

Do we not remember who Jesus surrounded himself with? Don't believe for one minute that there is notRead More one homosexual in your congregation, or for that matter an adulterer, a fornicator, a thief, a liar, the list goes on. And if you are a real stickler, any divorcee that has dated or remarried is committing sin every day. I do not believe in the gay lifestyle but I do believe in what good the boy scouts do. Shame on you for abandoning them when they need you the most
