Paulding Well Represented at Peachtree Road Race
A Hiram resident was the fastest among those who entered from Dallas and Hiram.
A runner from Hiram almost cracked the top 100 in Monday’s Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, according to results reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Out of entrants from Dallas and Hiram, Steven Murray, 22, of Hiram placed 113th with a time of 34:22, making him the city’s top male and overall finisher. Hiram’s top female runner was Karen Wagner, who logged a time of 49:02.
Twenty-one-year-old Chase Babineaux of Dallas finished just out of the top 200, at the 203rd spot, with a time of 36:50. Other Dallas runners who cracked the top 1,000 runners were 34-year-old Russell Brand, who placed 557th with his time of 41 minutes even; Chris Wilson was 619th with 41:29; and Will Eustace ran a 41:52 and placed 671st.

Pam Poe was Dallas’ top female runner with a time of 46:53, putting her at 1,924th place in overall results.
Sammy Kitwara of Kenya, 24, was the race’s top finisher with his time of 28:05. Thirty-year-old Werknesh Kidane of Ethiopia was the fastest female runner—her finish of 31:23 put her at 52nd place among all runners.

The top runner from Georgia was Ty McCormack of Gainesville. The 18-year-old placed 47th with his 31:01.
