Two Schools’ Athletic Programs Recognized

Hiram and North Paulding high schools were given honors Sept. 2.

Two Paulding high schools had their athletic programs recognized Sept. 2.

Hiram High School that night was awarded the 2010-2011 Sportsmanship Cup, which is presented annually to the school that scores the highest on the sportsmanship point system.

Along with the cup, the school was presented $500 for its general athletic fund. The sponsors of the Sportsmanship Cup are Kim Curl of Kimberly Assisted Living Home and John Henderson of Henderson Insurance Agency.

North Paulding High School during halftime of its home football game against Alexander was presented with the 2010-2011 Superintendent's Cup. The school, which last year was in its fourth year of existence, earned the award that is presented annually to the school that has the best overall athletic program. 

The sponsor of the Superintendent’s Cup program is Dallas Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep. Andy Gill, the owner, was present for the awarding of the cup and $500 to the school’s athletic fund.
