Weekend Pigskin Roundup

Every week we'll take a look back at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Dallas-Hiram Patch.

High school football is back and now every team in the area has at least one game under its belt. Here’s a brief look at the football action from the weekend in Dallas-Hiram Patch

Paulding County 41, North Paulding 37 – quarterback Carl Edouard threw for a score, but is remembered mostly after he picked up a fumble and scampered 90 yards for a score Friday. Akeem Rhymes jumped in front of a North Paulding pass and returned the interception for a score and special teams produced a touchdown and a late, long return to set up a final score. Paulding County capitalized on mistakes to win a roller-coaster, county-rivalry game.

East Paulding 27, South Paulding 0 – gained 288 yards on offense and held to just 88 Friday in a shutout win. Running back Terrell Hanna scored on two touchdown runs and tallied 115 yards to pace the Raiders.

Hiram scored the next two touchdowns and added the nail in the coffin in the third quarter to get away with a one-touchdown victory.
