Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Dallas-Hiram Schools Post 2 Shutouts

Each Monday we'll take a look at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Dallas-Hiram Patch.

East Pauding 34, Kell 0 – When sixth-ranked hosted seventh-ranked Kell, many expected a much closer game. “We had an outstanding opponent and I think our kids rose to the occasion,” said head coach John Reid.

Kamani Thomas carried the ball 22 times and gained 142 yards on the ground, scoring twice, while Andrej Settles led the aerial attack with eight receptions and 119 yards with three touchdowns. (Video link)

Hiram 17, Osborne 7 – The were down, 7-3, at halftime but scored twice in the second half to pull out the win on homecoming. Junior quarterback Rodrick Harrison scored twice on 37 yards rushing.

South Paulding 33, Villa Rica 0 – opened 5S-AAAA play by scoring the most points of its season and providing its best defensive effort, shutting out Villa Rica on the road.

Sprayberry 39, North Paulding 21 – The Wolfpack watched as Sprayberry returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown and then allowed the Yellow Jackets a two-touchdown lead before getting on the board, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. Turnovers hurt as did Sprayberry’s ability to score on special teams.
