Meet Dallas-Hiram Patch at National Night Out

Tonight's event in Hiram is still on, according to event organizers. Dallas-Hiram Patch Editor Jon Gargis and Advertising Manager Allison Bentley will be there to give away Patch items.

You’re just hours away from free food—and free items from Patch.

The and are holding National Night Out 2012 in today from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is aimed at heightening crime and drug prevention awareness, promoting local anticrime programs and strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.

Event organizers earlier this afternoon said that despite today’s rains, they anticipate the weather to dry up, and the event is set to go on as planned.

Today’s event is free, and attendees will be able to enjoy free hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks. Those in attendance also will be able to experience some hands-on exhibits, while activities will be available for kids of all ages.

On hand from Dallas-Hiram Patch will be Editor Jon Gargis and Advertising Manager Allison Bentley, who will be there to speak to attendees about using Patch—from posting announcements and events to advertising opportunities. The two also will be giving out free Patch items, such as pens and magnets.
