I pulled up to the Starbucks window ready to pay for my order and the order of the lady behind me. Brightening someone's day seemed like a good idea. "That will be $63.52." "I'm sorry, what?" I said incredulously."Yeah, the lady behind you is getting coffee for her office. You may want to sit this one out." the barista smiled. Indeed I did. Instead I threw my hand out and waved at the lady behind me in the spirit of good will and she returned it with an awkward, "Do I know you?" wave and expression and then I drove off.
