Frugal Family: Consignment Sales Will Be Held in Dallas, Acworth This Weekend
Specials are promoted at the Paulding Bowling Center in Dallas almost every day, including $1 bowling Monday through Thursday for the rest of this month.
We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars.
This column will be dedicated to giving you five great local deals each week that will help your family’s bottom line. Since we do the scouting for you, you can save time as well as money. You are a big part of this column.

1. Children's Consignment Sale in Acworth
Deal: Registration ends today for the Clothing Kids for the Kingdom sale to be held Friday and Saturday. Sellers receive 75 percent, but all sellers must volunteer for at least a four-hour shift. The registration fee is $8. Here is information for sellers.
You also can volunteer without being a seller. Volunteers even have their own shopping hours—7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and 8 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Those who volunteer for more than one shift get to shop a half hour earlier on those two days. Half-off preview prices will be available only on Friday for volunteer shopping hours.
Gently worn clothes will be sold for babies, children and juniors. Also available will be maternity clothing, shoes, toys, books, games, bedding, nursery equipment and more.
Many items will be half off on Saturday. Proceeds will be used to support various ministries in the church.
No strollers are allowed during shopping hours. More than 100 sellers will be participating.
Hours: Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.

2. Another Children's Consignment Sale in Dallas
Deal: The Bargains at Brightwater Children's Consignment Sale will take place this Friday and Saturday. Gently used and new baby clothing and accessories, children's clothing through young teen, coats, winter clothing, costumes, books, toys and video will be among the items for sale. Certain items will be 50 percent off on Saturday.
There are no restrictions on strollers. Around 10 sellers will be participating.
Hours: Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Clubhouse, Brightwater Subdivision, 485 Southshore Lane, Dallas, off Ga. 120 on Old Griffin Road next to Hardy Family Ford.

3. Bowling Specials
Deal: On Mondays through Thursdays, $1 bowling is offered all through this month at in Dallas. They also match all published competitor specials. Free WiFi also is available.
More everyday deals include:
- Monday and Tuesday: $1 games, $2 shoes
- Wednesday: $8 all you can bowl (with free shoes or free small drink)
- Thursday: $1 games, $1 shoes, $1 popcorn, $1 draft
- Friday after 10 p.m.: $8 all you can bowl, including free shoes or free small drink
- Sunday: $2 games, $2 shoes
Hours: Sunday, noon to 10 p.m.; Monday and Tuesday, 4 to 10 p.m.; Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight; Friday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.

4. Bargain Watcher Website
Deal: The Bargain Watcher website lists many kinds of sales in Paulding and nearby counties as well as throughout the state. All sales can be searched by month, date, title, location or keyword.
You can find yard sales, curriculum consignment sales for homeschooling families and fall consignment sales. Also with the free Watchlist, you can post an item to sell or buy—for free.
5. Free 'Making Sense of Retirement' Seminar
Deal: The will be the site of this free seminar on Aug. 25, including lunch. The host will be Steve Frederick of Edward Jones, discussing retirement goals.
Hours: Aug. 25, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
