Girl Scouts Reward Volunteers

Caryn Backus, from Paulding County, received the Pioneer Award to recognize the invaluable and dedicated commitment to their troop, service unit, county, the council or the entire Girl Scout Movement.

On Nov. 2, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta awarded the talented and skillful adults who have dedicated their time to the troops of Paulding County.

Caryn Backus, from Paulding County, received the Pioneer Award to recognize the invaluable and dedicated commitment to their troop, service unit, county, the council or the entire Girl Scout Movement. She has been an adult volunteers for at least 7 years while serving in one or more volunteer capacities and is currently a registered adult member. Open to all levels of volunteers, she has given her free time, skills and talents, marking the way for others to follow.

Out of more than 19,000 adult volunteers in the greater metropolitan Atlanta area, this awards is quite prestigious. The recognition Girl Scouting provides is a powerful reinforcement of the qualities and service it values. Awarded and earned recognitions provide the means to acknowledge individuals and service teams for their unique and outstanding service.
