Officers, Deputies, Firefighters Eat Ribs Fast for Local Charity

The Dallas Police, Paulding County Sheriff's and Paulding County Fire and Rescue departments will compete in a ribs-eating content Sunday in Hiram.

Area police, deputies and firefighters will show off their ribs-eating prowess for a good cause this weekend.

Texas Roadhouse in Hiram will host a ribs-eating challenge at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, among teams from the Dallas Police Department, Paulding County Sheriff Department and Paulding County Fire and Rescue Department.

The first competitor to devour a full rack of ribs, a loaded baked potato, a side of corn, and a baked roll wins.

Texas Roadhouse will donate 10 percent of the evening’s food sales to the charity of choice of the winning department.

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Department and Dallas Police Department will compete for Cops for Kids, an organization that helps the less fortunate children of Paulding County.

The Paulding County Fire Department will compete for Georgia Fire Fighters Burn Foundation which provides fire safety & prevention education, supports medical facilities, and assists burn survivors in their recovery.

In addition special activities for the kids, including crafts, police & fire safety vehicles, $1.99 kid’s meals, and an apple sauce eating competition, will be part of the day’s festivities.

Texas Roadhouse is located at 140 Depot Drive in Hiram.
