The school is named after longtime educator Lena M. Moses, who taught in four Paulding County schools during her 43-year tenure, which spanned from 1945 to 1988. Moses also began her education in the school system, completing all 11 grades available to African-American students at the time; she continued on, completing 12th grade at Washington High School in Atlanta, and graduated at the top of her class. The school that bears her name serves students in grades six through eight. The school's mascot is the Titans.
